About us

Hear and Now is a celebration and exploration of the stories and memories that connect our Torbay community across generations. From 2017 to 2019, individuals of all ages conducted interviews together, capturing the histories and anecdotes of local residents at various events, libraries, care homes, schools, and community centers through a diverse range of methods.

Sound Communities and Ocean Youth Radio collaborated with several organizations, including Libraries Unlimited, the Torbay Community Development Trust, The Tale, Brixham Museum, Torquay Museum, For Your Age, Eyeview, the International Agatha Christie Festival, local history groups, local primary schools, Youth Genesis, the Acorn Centre, TheEdge, the PHAB Club, Parkfield Children in Care, and various care homes in Torquay. Together, they brought this project to life with over 200 episodes.
